Instead of describing pain in words, patients point at the tooth on an anatomical chart and the platform handles the rest, routing the right information to the right clinic before they ever arrive.
About BrightSmile Dental
Built for modern dental clinics in the healthcare sector, BrightSmile replaces phone tag and paper records with one connected system. Patients book, triage and track treatment from a guided interface, while clinic staff run schedules, review cases and record care from a dedicated dashboard.
The product is anchored by an FDI-notation tooth chart of all 32 teeth, so a symptom is pinned to an exact location rather than a vague description, giving the dentist context the moment a request comes in.

Project requirement
Dental booking is awkward: patients struggle to describe which tooth hurts, clinics juggle calls and paper notes, and double-bookings and no-shows are constant. The platform had to make intake effortless for patients while giving clinics structured, reliable data to act on.
It needed an interface anyone could use without instructions, scheduling that could not double-book at the database level, and strict privacy so every patient saw only their own records, with clinic staff working from a separate operational view.

Solution and result
We designed BrightSmile around a single idea: "point at the tooth, we handle the rest." The anatomical tooth chart became the front door, letting patients pin a symptom to an exact tooth and attach a photo, so the clinic gets a clear, triaged request instead of a vague booking.
The platform adapts to who is using it, with two connected experiences:
- For patients — book by tooth, attach triage photos, get instant confirmations and reminders, reschedule in-app and follow a mouth-map history of treated, booked and healthy teeth.
- For clinic staff — a dashboard to manage schedules, triage incoming cases, build multi-session treatment plans with upfront pricing and record completed care.
- Always-on scheduling — real-time availability with database-level enforcement against double-booking, plus same-day slots for emergency escalation.
- Privacy by design — row-level security so patients only ever access their own records.
